When a user opens the Sage application and clicks on the login button. User gets the error prompt like ''Another user has an exclusive lock on an option within the P11D program. “

    Sorry for delay in responding to your query.

    In Sage 50 P11D, certain tasks will require exclusive access to the software's database, examples of theses task are backing up data or running legislative reports such as P11D's or the P11D(b).

    If a user tries to access the software when one of these functions is being carried out, or the software thinks one of theses functions is being carried out when it is not, the error message will be displayed.

    I would first log all users out of Sage 50 P11D, then get the user with the issue to try and login in, if they can, then ask other user to login straight after, if it works fine it may have simply been due to another user doing something in the software that required exclusive access.

    If the error is the same, ensure no one is logged into the software then follow the steps below:

    1.) Right click on the P11D desktop icon and then click on 'Open File Location'

    2.) In the Windows explorer window that opens, find the file name 'ClearP111DLocks' and double click on it.

    3.) A window named 'Current Logins' will appear, the bottom half of the window will display and users trapped in the data, to remove them highlight the user and click on the 'Logout User' button to remove them.

    Once you have cleared any trapped users try opening your P11D software again.
