Just to add, I rebooted after the install, and I have tried on two separate machines. Our data is stored on a separate server via a shared folder, which the clients have sufficient access to read/write. I am doing the installation/data upgrade logged in as Administrator.

I have looked in the P11D.log found in C:\ProgramData\Sage\Sage 50 P11D\29.0\ and it says;

frmStartUpWizard.btnFinish_Click : Bad file name or number
frmStartUpWizard.btnFinish_Click : Bad file name or number

That error normally means that the path you're browsing to the v28 data to convert is incorrect. Can you check the path to your data an ensure you're browsing to that location?

It's definitely valid, I've copied and pasted the path in and I've also hit the Browse button and located it that way.

Is it worth me selecting "Create New Data" and then doing a data import once I'm in a fresh install of P11D?

I am currently stuck with no working copy of P11D, any ideas please?

Hi I created new data and then restored the back up I had taken before the upgrade was put on not sure if this is right but it worked for me.

Believe it or not, just tried that, and the Finish button behaves the same. It does nothing

I then noticed that when you select "Create new data", the next screen is still prompting you to select the data you wish to upgrade. I selected the v28.1 data and it went through and upgraded the data...left in in the v28.1 folder though, but I've since moved it via the P11D app...
