Unfortunately the Stripe integration only supports the card payments against invoices. The non-invoice payments side is not supported here. If you are looking to use both aspects, I would highly recommend moving to Sage Pay.

We have set up Stripe as the payment provider for our invoices but I am unclear what would happen in Sage if a payment was received in the linked Stripe account that was not generated by an invoice.

Is there any documentation that explains this?

Although we have set up a second Stripe account for non invoice sales I am still puzzled about how to use Stripe as a bank account in Sage.

Is there a way of importing transactions from Stripe as there is with other banks?

By the way we would love to use Sage Pay but our membership software does not support it at the moment.

Hi Steven,

Unfortunately those transactions will not show within your Stripe account on Sage. As this side is not supported, they will not appear in Accounting. We wouldn't have any documentation on this either. The only articles we have are in relation to the Card Payments feature that is supported -

Also there isn't an option to import in transactions using a file in the Stripe Bank Account. Importing in statements is only available for Current Account, Loan and Credit Card account type banks in Accounting.

I've just moved from Xero to Stripe, and I'm disappointed by both the lack of proper Stripe integration (as an actual bank account), as well as Square too.

I run a couple of e-commerce websites, and use Square to sell at fairs and markets too.

Xero allow payment gateways like this to be added just like any bank, with Bank Feeds/syncing. That way, you can work down the list of customer sales and reconcile them.

Moving to Sage has now given me a lot of manual work to have to do, and I'm unsure how to actually do it correctly.

Could I just please ask this is fed back to the developer team and support is added for 3rd party payment gateway providers without customer having to move to SagePay.

For Stripe, could you advise how I correctly import all of its transactions so that the amounts paid by customers, but also Stripe's own fees are handled correctly in my accounting?

Thanks Andy, sorry I meant treating Stripe as  bank account rather than for Sage invoices. My online shops take hundreds of Stripe payments but I don't invoice much at all within Sage itself. I need a good way to import Stripe as a bank account and reconcile each transaction please.

Hi thanks but neither of those links or solutions work. Those are for taking payments on Sage invoices (made within Sage) and reconciling those.

What I want to do is add Stripe and Square as bank accounts, so I can do my accounting for my online shop sales.

How can I please add them as bank accounts and not simply Sage payment methods?

Thanks for any help. Xero does offer this facility, just as it does for PayPal and other online merchants.
