Tracking sales

SUGGESTED
Posted By FormerMember

Hiya,

I was wondering if anybody has any insight on how Sage tracks products sold etc? We are using the products/services for the first time and are struggling to understand how Sage will know what is sold and when? Is that something you have to enter manually every time you make a sale?

Kind regards!

    Hi Tayla,

If you have set up Products/Services within Accounting, you will need to make sure that you have selected these on the invoices you are raising. You can either set up Stock Items or Non Stock. Stock items track the quantity and movement of the product in and out of the business. Whereas, non stock doesn't track. On both types, you are able to enter in a Cost Price at which you would purchase the product at.

When you then sell these products, the system will calculate the revenue made on each product sold. You can view this under Reporting --> Sales Revenue - Products & Services: The Product & Service Sales Revenue report

If you wish to track movement of a Stock Item, you can use the following report: Stock Movements Report
