Transaction Types in Journals not being picked up in Customised P&L

SUGGESTED

Hi,

I've set up my transaction analysis types and linked  invoices, other cash transactions and journals.

When running a customised P&L with transaction type filters, all transactions are being picked up except for journals.

Why is this and how do I correct it please (i.e. what am I doing wrong!!) ?

    Hi

    Thanks for using Community Hub.

The first thing I'd check is that you're definitely selecting a department on the journal.

I would then check which nominal ledgers you're selecting on the journals that aren't being picked up.

The profit and loss will only pick up nominal ledgers that are set up under the category of Sales, Direct Expenses and Overheads.

To check which category the nominal ledger is in:

    1. Go to Settings, then Business Settings.
    2. Select Chart of Accounts.
    3. Find the nominal codes for the journals. And see what Category they fall under.

If this answers your query, please select 'Verify Answer.'

    Thanks Aziz,

The nominal ledger accounts are OK. When I run a standard P&L, it picks up and includes the journals.

It's only when I run the customised P&L using the filters that the journals are not picked up.

I've checked that the differences (across several accounts and several journals) are due to the journal amounts.

    Why would this be?

I'm not using the department transaction type, but am using the other two transaction types. Could this be significant?

    Hi

The only other thing I can suggest is to double check you've got the correct period selected on both P&L reports.

Then just double checking the filters don't have anything marked or unmarked that may prevent the journal from appearing.

If this still doesn't resolve your problem, I'd recommend getting in touch and speaking to our technical support team.
