Migrating Payroll

I thought I would reserve my first post for what I am sure is a silly question.

When setting up employees in Sage Business Cloud Payroll I am asked if they have paid tax this year. We have three employees two of which have paid NI but not paid tax. 

In the question does the term "tax" include national insurance?

    Hi Mark,

    If you are migrating your data over to Sage Business Cloud Payroll and you are entering in opening balances, this box is solely for PAYE the employee paid from the start of the tax year.

    If your employees haven't paid any PAYE, then you can enter in zero in the box.
