Hi Andy,

Thanks for the reply but it didn't work. I already have UAC switched off. Still will not allow me to select the Sage network share which I have mapped to my S drive.

Its strange that after I accept the license agreement, select Client installation there is no custom button as stated in the instructions.

Hi Nathan,

Yes, I finally got it installed. To do so I had to install the This Computer option. Once installed 

Go to

C:\program Files (x86)\Sage Payroll Irl\2024\dataloc.ini

Copy dataloc.ini to the desktop

Edit the desktop copy and change the path to

\\<Sage-Server-name>\micw\program files\micropay professional\

(Do not put in the year ie \2024)

Save and close. 

Copy the desktop version back to C:\program Files (x86)\Sage Payroll Irl\2024\dataloc.ini replacing the original

Start Sage payroll

This worked for me. Apparently there is a permissions issue on the local PC effecting the installation - you'll have to keep this in mind when updating next year.

I get this too. The work around that works for me is to install on this computer (as a stand alone) and once installed I edit the dataloc file and change the path there using UNC path.
