That is correct once you tick the box, this advises HMRC the company has now ceased trading and as a result will be the final submission.

Thank you for getting back to me. Since posting my question I have been trying to find the answer myself and came across this info in the screenshot.

It says on there that it doesn't make an entry on the CT600 which made me think it didn't notify HMRC.

Just to reassure me, it definitely does inform HMRC?

Hi Shaun,

Just double checked with our technical team for you and it will notify HMRC. You can also Add additional note as a PDF if you wanted additional peace of mind.
