On May 3, 2023, Google announced that Web SQL access will no longer be available in Chromium 119 as of November 7, 2023.

The Sage X3 Fixed Asset Inventory app currently uses this database. As a result of this announcement, it no longer runs in HTTP contexts and will not run in HTTPS contexts from November 2023. Consequently, Sage will be removing this App from Google Play.

Sage always recommends using a secured connection (HTTPS) to limit any issues for customers.

Temporary Solution

Customers with the Sage X3 Fixed Asset Inventory app have two short-term solutions:

• Switch to a HTTPS connection. This will allow the App to run correctly until November 2023.
• Do not use the Android app and connect with non-Chromium web browsers such as Firefox. In this case, users will not benefit from the advanced features available in the App such as barcode scanning, GPS, etc.

Medium Term

Sage is reviewing the options to leverage the capabilities of the Mobile Automation Framework to create the next generation of Sage X3 Asset Inventory.

Please note that the new offering of Sage X3 Asset Inventory will not be available before 2024 and will require customers to update to the latest Sage X3 release.
