SageCRM crashes every hour during high load

Hi everyone,

Since Jan 2013, my SageCRM has been crashing every hour and more frequently during peak usage. I have tried restarting IIS service, restarting windows, network checks, virus checks, rootkit checks, DDOS checks and even changing the database server but nothing works. It still crashes during peak usage on my 32GB quad core Xeon server. CPU typically hovers around 30%, memory utilization at 20% and network at 1-5%.

It was working fine for a few months before Jan 2013. Anyone has a clue why?

Thanks

When you say it crashes, what is being displayed to the users in CRM?

What version of SQL are you using, is it 32 bit or 64 bit? And is the server you mention also the SQL server? If it isn't what is the spec of that server?

How many users do you have, and is there anything else being run on the database/web server at the time it crashes? Are you doing anything else in SQL at those times (back ups, re-indexes etc.)?

I would start by looking at the log files at the times of each crash to see if you can identify a particular pattern.

When you say 'crashes', do you mean everyone is logged out, or does everyone receive an error? I would check that you don't have anything silly like an application pool recycle taking place in the middle of the day, or something like that, as it has happened to me before.

If the system is customised, perhaps a particular customisation is taking a long time to run?

It's MS SQL Server 2012 so I guess it's 64bit. There is a stack trace in the app log. I should have about 110 users during the time when it crashes and probably about 50 users generating reports. I'm not sure if that will slow down the server big time. It used to work, as in they have been generating these reports for months. Come Dec 31 it suddenly keeps crashing.

    Hi Kannan,

Is SQL 2012 64 bit not supported in 7.1g?

    Hello Sam

SQL Server 2012 is not yet fully qualified yet for Sage CRM v7.1, I think you would need to roll the SQL version to SQL 2008 64 bit till there is an official service pack that would qualify for Sage CRM.

Could you also share the version of Sage CRM you are using in this thread

SQL 2012 should be supported since 7.1 F
