From your above post what I understood is that you want to display only header and total at group footer. As per my knowledge there is no such feature to suppress the report details. However you can customize a report using custom asp page or you can use crystal report.

We have created CRM reports using custom asp pages for our clients. It would be great if you can come offline so that we will be in better position to help you to create report using asp page.

Thanks for the reply, leave it with me for a bit, I might investigate the option of crystal reports

The report is not specific to a single company record, so I can build the report relatively quickly in Crystal, its just investigating how to embed it in a new asp page/tab in My CRM
