Managing Opt-in Email List

Hi,

We've been asked by quite a few of our clients about how Sage CRM addresses email opt-in requirement which the opt-in consent must be acquired in order to send emails to recipients.

Is there any planned enhancement in future Sage CRM release to address opt-in requirement? For example, If a client chooses to opt in by clicking on a link in the email, then both Swiftpage and Sage CRM should indicate that future emails can be sent to this email address.

Also, on Swiftpage (kb.swiftpage.com/.../sage crm), it indicates "A user should never log in through http://www.swiftpageconnect.com/. These accounts are specifically designed to work exclusively through the Sage CRM application." If the user cannot access these functionality, then how the suppression data is managed on Sage CRM or Swiftpage? If an opt-out customer wants to opt back in, how this should be done to send emails out to this customer?

Thanks so much folks,

    Hi Ichung,

There's no planned enhancement around the opt-ins piece you mention but it may be something that you could post on our ideas hub: community.sagecrm.com/.../default.aspx

I disagree with that KB article on the Swiftpage site, it can be useful for CRM users to log directly into the www.swiftpageconnect.com website if there are any issues with the sync or if they feel there's a discrepancy with the statistics so that they can compare the numbers on the Swiftpage site and in CRM. Users shouldn't go messing around with stuff in there though.

Regarding managing the opt outs, according to the documentation:

"Swiftpage will not e-mail any address, which has opted out of receiving E-marketing e-mails from your company, using the opt-out link in the footer of the e-mail templates. The opt-out flag is synchronized and displayed in CRM on the Company, Person, or Lead summary page associated with the e-mail address that has "opted out". A CRM user can manually check or uncheck the option, however this has no impact on E-marketing e-mails sent from Swiftpage (these will always retain the opt-out flag set from the E-marketing e-mail)."

If a customer wants to opt back in you should follow these instructions on the Swiftpage website : here

"To remove an email address from your opt-out list, simply send an email to [email protected] with your Swiftpage account name and the email address(es) that you would like taken off of your opt-out list (i.e. "opted in")."
