Mail Merge a Quote

I am messing around with sending a quote through a mail merge and am a little confused. Does the quote not automatically send as a email? It seems like its a pain to merge the document as a communication then create a new email/communication then attach the merged document I just created. Am I missing something? Thanks, Anthony

Hi,

We have implemented similar kind of customization for a Client where we have added a button on Quote Summary Screen. Upon clicking this button a pop up screen opens up to select the template for mail merge. Selecting the template and clicking on Continue button will merge all the required Quote Line Items value from the Quote Summary Screen and sends an email to customer with the generated document as an attachment in PDF format and also records it as Email Out communication.

Sage CRM 7.3 allows direct merge to PDF. See: community.sagecrm.com/.../sage-crm-7-3-what-does-the-new-mail-merge-to-pdf-feature-mean-for-existing-customizations.aspx
