Configuring POP server over SSL

When configuring Email Management Server, the log shows:

2014-11-03 10:15:38.604> Sleep Period = 180 seconds
2014-11-03 10:18:39.590> mail service count 1
2014-11-03 10:18:39.609> Mailbox: crm
2014-11-03 10:18:39.609> Exception connecting to Mail Server: Command is not valid in this state.

I verified the configuration, all are entered correctly except there is no SSL configuration available on Email Management Server screen. Our client's POP server is running over SSL, Does Sage CRM take care of POP over SSL by default? If not, how POP server over SSL is suppose to be configured? Thanks a lot Folks.
