The field names which are used in the grids and lists come from the views on which they are based. For example in the company search screen the phone number is the "comp_phonefullnumber". This can be accessed in Sage CRM 7.2 pretty easily using the clientside API.

e.g.

crm.grids().column('comp_phonefullnumber').highlightCell('lightSalmon');
