What is the link between Outlook contact and Sage CRM

Hello,

I have a customer that is used to using SalesForce and apparently SalesForce has an automatic sync between Outlook Contacts and CRM whereas the outlook plugin for Sage CRM only allows you to add one contact at a time as a manual process. The sales guys at this customer site has hundreds of contacts that they want to sync with Sage CRM and they don't want to manually do one at a time. My thought was to write a little service that reads the exchange mailbox (they use office 365) and add contacts from outlook into Sage CRM based on a category (i.e. Sage CRM Contact??). So if a contact is marked with that category I could get the contact information and create a company/person in Sage CRM. My only question is how does Sage CRM link the outlook contact? Do they use an extended property on the contact and associate the person id to it? I basically want to create the company/person initially and add it to the sales person's contact list and then let the Sage CRM Exchange Sync handle the synching between the two going forward. I guess this is more a question for one of the Sage CRM developers but I don't know how else to get this question to them :-) Please help!! Thanks.
