That's an interesting question.

You have the potential challenge that the system may have one default Theme set, but different users could be using either the new Ergonomic theme or the older Sage theme.

But we can make our lives easier by just worrying about what Theme the system administrator is using when a component or an addon-on is installed.

The component parameter screen can allow javascript to be run.

You can which Theme the System Admin is using with

document.querySelector("link[rel=stylesheet]").getAttribute("href");

This would return something like

"/crm73/Themes/ergonomic.css?version=60062:60063M"

And that's what I've given you!

Not meaning to butt in, but I was interested by this, and got it using:

var Uid = CurrentUser.user_userid;

var US = CRM.FindRecord("UserSettings","Uset_Key = 'PreferredCssTheme' AND Uset_userId =" + Uid);

var USV = US.Uset_Value;

errorstr= USV;

As I could see the function user was loaded into each screen (at least, the ones I checked).

Out of curiosity, what do you need to do with the add-on during the installation that is dependent on the admin's theme?

Pal ! During installation i will take decision to copy my custom images on the basis of applied theme. Because new Ergonomic theme has different folder location as 7.2 has.

In that case, I'm not sure if it's a good idea to just go by the theme that the administrator is using. That user could change their theme at any time, and as Jeff has pointed out, other users could be using a different theme.

I'd just copy the custom images to each theme folder, or to a central folder in the custom pages folder which is not theme dependent.

If you download the free Sage CRM mapping component and inspect the folder structure and ES file, you'll see that it's easy to copy files to multiple locations with just a few lines of code.

Hi there, if you're using ASP pages, then I would just put the images in same folder so you don't have to worry about folders when referencing the image in your HTML mark-up.

If you're referencing icons elsewhere in Sage CRM (e.g. menus, core screens etc), then I would copy them to the same folder structure that the core product uses - which means copying them into the folders for each of the themes. This is easily done in a component though - see the Sage CRM Mapping component as an example.
