I think most legislations have rules about special symbols being used in company names. For example in the UK a '%' sign can be used in the company name but not within the first 3 characters. See:
www.smallfirmsservices.com/.../characters-symbols.aspx
These rules are part of the reason that saw Sage CRM gradual reduce the wild card symbols that it used in searches to just the % sign.
Normally in SQL you can search for special characters like a percent sign by escaping them. e.g.
select * from company where comp_name like '%[%]%'
But...
in Sage CRM the escape characters themselves [] because they are valid in company names (see article above) are treated like part of the company name.
I can't think of a way of 'finding' a '%' in a name through the regular interface. You could create a view that did the job and then create a report on that view...
I can't think of a way to allow that to work.
Hi Jeff,
Thank you for your quick response. CRM Company Name was just example. So it is not possible to find a '%' in any text field through regular Find interface.
Noted. Thanks a lot.
Hi Ani,
Try using the pipe symbol (vertical bar) before %. In your case, use %|% in company name field to list the required records.
