PersonPhoneSummaryScreen - Making a field mandatory

Hi,

I'm looking to make the below field mandatory, however it seems impossible to locate frontend and I can't find the place in the DB to make it a mandatory field.

I've found that the field is on the PersonPhoneSummaryScreen. I found the name of the screen via Administration > Customisation > Person > Blocks > personsummaryblock.

There is no Phone entity under secondary entities, yet there is email and address. So I can't edit the field security and make it mandatory as I can with nearly every other field.

Has anyone else been able to make it mandatory? Please advise.

This article outlines a server side way of validating phone numbers.

You can do this with the client side API in version 7.2 onwards

Detecting that a field is blank/null and returning the user to that screen to enter a value is a form of validation!

Hi Jeff,

I don't want to put a validation on the phone number fields, I want to make them mandatory fields to that when a new Person is created in CRM they have to specify a phone number.

I see your point Jeff, would it not however be easier to just enable in Field Security the field as mandatory as I've done with other fields on the same screen?

As there's mention of PersonPhoneSummaryScreen in the Person > Blocks screen is there a hidden entity for Phone?
