Send Email - document template selection

Hello,

We have Sage CRM 7.3 SP3. When clicking the Send Order/Quote button, the system forces the merge to use the "Quick template". We have different sales teams, who use different merge templates, so we can't use quick templates. When you click Merge To PDF, it does let you choose a template, but it it doesn't bring up the email screen, it just lets you log a communication record and document.

Do I understand it correctly, that out-of-the-box you cannot send a quote to e-mail AND choose the merge template? (without using workflow action)

I'm sure I can create a custom button and page to do this, I just want to confirm I'm not missing something before I head down that road. It seems odd that it forces you to the quick template.
