Sage theme - font colour

Hi

We have recently upgraded to 7.3 and using the 'Sage' theme but the blue font in lists and classic dashboard is not liked by users. We would like to changed to navy and have looked in the style sheet but unsure what section of the css file to amend. Many thanks

I think you should look at switching to use the Contemporary theme. The themes inherited from previous versions make assumptions on the structure of the HTML page that they are trying to control with styles and colours etc.

But the underlying HTML is not static between versions. We know that over the last few versions we have moved away from the use of framesets to a flat page structure. We have changed the main menu location, we have added new features such as the favourites and quick search. This has required there to be some significant changes to the physical structure of the HTML. This is not just a matter of styling.

The development team have had to make decisions on what will ensure the best experience for customers. This has resulted in some necessary rationalization. That happened in Sage CRM 7.3 when the different mobile and tablet themes where rolled up into a single responsive theme. A similar thing has happened in Sage CRM 2017 R1. To ensure the proper functioning of the new features the developers have focussed on a single theme in Sage CRM 2017. This theme takes into account all of the structural changes that have been added to Sage CRM, that is not just the new physical HTML tags but also the new CSS classes that the UX and UI designers have required.

An upgraded system like yours will have the old themes BUT there is not guarantee that the new features will operate correctly when those themes are used. Those themes are based on previous versions HTML structures, classes and design principles.

    Having said that.

You will find the css files listed under

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage\CRM\CRM73GA\WWWRoot\Themes

The Sage theme is the 'color1' theme. When you look at a page in Chrome you can right mouse click and inspect the element and it will reveal the style sheet details.

thanks for this Jeff. We have some users that don't like the classic dashboard in contemporary as there's no grid lines in the tables. We are looking into how to change this as well to hopefully move all users over to contemporary theme

I don't have an environment which uses Classic Dashboard blocks.

But have a look at the HTML of the Grids created in the classic dashboard block. You can do that by right clicking and inspect the element (assuming you are using Chrome) and see what classes are used.

You may be able to either

    1) Add an additional CSS file to describe the class if they are not in the ergonomic.css or

    2) Change the ergonomic.css file. (But be aware that this may get blown away by patches and upgrades).

Thanks, Jeff. We'll look into that... appreciate your help.
