Upgrading 7.3 SP3 to 2019 R1 - Custom fields question

Hi, I need to upgrade a customer from Sage CRM 7.3 SP3 to 2019 R1.

I am doing this in a test environment first

The customer has 'added a few custom fields & also I a new view to include those fields to get them onto the quotation template'

What the best practice to ensure these customizations upgrade ok to the 2019 R1 version ok?

Do I need to manually copy any tables or files before running the 2019 installation?

    Backup the database, custompages, is/custom folder etc and then do the upgrade. Depending on what the fields have been called it should be fine. You may get a few warnings if system views have been modified. Normally the upgrade should be fine. The upgrade log will alert you of any issues.
