Sage CRM - LinkedIn Integration in 2021

SOLVED

Hi all, I am investigating a LinkedIn integration with Sage CRM but have so far come up short. LinkedIn's API looks to be extremely strict in terms of granting access and the use case for which the typical integration might be used (finding & linking to a profile) seems to be disallowed. I have had a go at adding e.g. a company's page link following web posts but it seems LinkedIn have stopped this. I read that they have endorsed only one particular brand of CRM (which is not Sage) so integration might be near on impossible. Has anybody managed to create an integration recently? All articles I can find are years old so cannot gain full clarity.

Does anybody have a working integration using the provided 'widgets', or have these ceased to stop working now?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

There shouldn't be any active Blog articles on Sage City that contain out of date references to LinkedIn widgets.  If there have found any then please let me know so I can remove them.

The existing Dashboard gadget hyperlink to LinkedIn just carries out a search on Company and Surname.

The LinkedIn API isn't designed for developers to grab information and present it to people who haven't authenticated (public display). Making calls as a single authenticated user to store it or present it elsewhere is against the Terms of Use for the API.

The LinkedIn API uses OAuth 2.0 for user authorization and API authentication. Applications must be authorized and authenticated before they can fetch data from LinkedIn or get access to member data.
