Sage CRM 2021 R1 - Outlook Plugin does not store images / attachments

Hello Community,

since the update to 2021 R1 there are big problems with the Outlook plugin.

E-mails with attachments or larger inline images are not filed at irregular intervals. (Office 365)
So far, no clear structure could be identified, which causes this error.

Will there be a hotfix for this?

Thank you for your help.

In the mean time, you can implement an older plug in, used to be supported years ago. Not sure now. But if you get the Outlook plugin for 2020 R2. Then in CRM under Users - User Configuration (might have moved but I know it is there somewhere) You can tell what plug in version to look for

    Hello Matthew,

thank you very much for your feedback.

We got the same advice from Sage. However, I can't estimate the effort required for this workaround.
I will give you a feedback later

    Hi Matthew,

I have now received feedback from IT.
They have told me that the result is the same with plugin 2020. The same attachments and emails were used as a basis, which were also not filed in the 2021.

    Hello Patrick,

This issue has been raised to Development team, Have you tried to remove the attachment and attach again. I tried this on CRM2021 and this worked.  Is this a problem with inline images or general attachment as well. The Inline images can be seen as an attachment because of few reasons,

    1) The Image is not configured properly.

    2) The email is being sent or received in plain text format. May be outlook or mail server converted the email as plain text. (that's the most common cause for seeing signature images or inline images as attachment).

    3) The third reason could be the images are embedded not linked. If images are embedded then more likely outlook has converted to attachment.

    4) Antivirus stripped those images from email body and attached as an attachment in the email.

Please try to remove those images and set format text as HTML, if it makes any difference.

    Thanks,

    SageL3Support Team

    Hello,

unfortunately I can't send you the examples here publicly, due to General data protection regulation.

You can find all examples with attachments / without attachments in the ticket (CRMS-576) of Sage Frankfurt. !All data are included there. Please contact your colleagues in Germany. They were able to reproduce all errors.

    Regarding your questions:

    2) The email is being sent or received in plain text format. May be outlook or mail server converted the email as plain text. (that's the most common cause for seeing signature images or inline images as attachment).

    - no

    3) The third reason could be the images are embedded not linked. If images are embedded then more likely outlook has converted to attachment.

    - no

    4) Antivirus stripped those images from email body and attached as an attachment in the email.

    - no

    Hello,

    are there any news?

    Is there any news?

Unfortunately, we have received the same description from the German support, which does not resemble a solution description.

Was it possible to check the data we provided?
