Deleting a Quote / Order

Hi

Recently, I received information from my BP stating that in order to delete a quote or order in Sage CRM, it is necessary to delete each line item individually until the line items grid is empty. This process struck me as quite unusual, as in my experience, deleting orders or quotes is typically a straightforward task performed in other systems.

Therefore, I would like to inquire if the information provided by my BP is indeed accurate. If it is, I kindly request that Sage CRM considers incorporating this feature in a future release, as it would undoubtedly benefit users by saving time and effort.

Thank you for your attention, and I eagerly await your response.

Wow, I've just tested this in 2022R2 and it only allows deletion if there are no line items!!
Must be a new setting as I've deleted Quotes with line items in earlier versions.
I'll log with my local Sage support as this cannot be correct. I'll update with any news from Sage.

You have always had to remove all the lines from quotes and orders (as standard) before you can delete a Q/O header. Unless you've had some customisation done to allow it.

This has always like this: you cannot delete a quote if it has lines.

But there is another way to do it:

    1. Mark quote as inactive.
    2. Delete the opportunity the quote belongs to. It will delete the quote as well.

I know you probably won’t delete the opportunity, but in this case, you only have the choice of delete all lines, or mark quote as inactive and uncheck “include in total quotes” checkbox. This will say you the quote is no longer valid.

    Hope this help.
