Either do a receipt (IM or PO), or through a physical count. You can't just enter a number because a posting is required to increase your inventory value in the GL.

There are only four ways to increase inventory. One is through Receipt of Goods in Purchase Order. The other is through Inventory Transaction Entry in Inventory. You can do an Adjustment or Receipt. Then there is Production Entry in Bill of Materials and Work Order.

The fifth is with a Physical Count Entry, if your count is greater than what was frozen.

Technically that is correct but it should NOT be used as a routine method of adding on hand quantity.

sorry.I am new to sage.What do you mean by posting?

I am creating new item using I/M then I am doing Receipt transaction.After that I am registering transaction still I am not able to get Quantity in I/M.

If you don't know what posting means then you should stop what you are doing and get with your reseller and get some training.

Work with your reseller and get some training.

Posting = updating. Print your transaction journal, it will ask you to update.

Then as BL says, you need to talk with your Sage Partner and get a little bit of training.
