If you’ve already recorded nonemployee compensation for tax year 2020 in 1099-MISC form Box 7, a utility is available to move the totals to 1099-NEC form Box 1.  For more information see AP_Update1099s_utl.pdf in the ..\mas90\utility folder on the Sage 100 Server.

AP_Update1099s_utl 1 Make sure you are in the company that you want to correct. From the File menu select Run:

Type in SYZCON

At the Command Prompt type in the following command
RUN “../Utility/AP_Update1099s_Utl”

This utility will move 2020 MISC box information that was setup like 2019
MISC box information to the correct 2020 MISC and NEC boxes. It will also
change the Vendor 1099 default form and box number from Misc, box 7 to
NEC, box 1.

The utility will do the following for all 2020 MISC records:
NEC Record Changes:
1. Copy MISC box 4 to NEC box 4. (Federal Income Tax WH. This amount
will be on both the MISC and NEC form)
2. Move MISC box 7 to NEC box 1. (Nonemployee Compensation)
3. Copy MISC box 16 to NEC box 5. (State tax WH. This amount will be
on both the MISC and NEC form)
4. Copy MISC box 17 to NEC box 6. (State payer state no. This amount
will be on both the MISC and NEC form)
5. Copy MISC box 18 to NEC box 7. (State income. This amount will be
on both the MISC and NEC form)
MISC record changes:
1. Move MISC box 10 to MISC box 9. (Crop insurance proceeds)
2. Move MISC box 14 to MISC box 10. (Gross proceeds paid to an
attorney)
3. Move MISC box 15a to MISC box 12. (Section 409A deferrals)
4. Move MISC box 16 to MISC box 15. (State tax WH)
5. Move MISC box 17 to MISC box 16. (State payer state no.)
6. Move MISC box 18 to MISC box 17. (State income)
7. Delete MISC box 15a
8. Delete MISC box 15b
9. Delete MISC box 18
SY_1099Setup changes:
1. Delete MISC box 15a, if it exists in the setup file
2. Delete MISC box 15b, if it exists in the setup file
3. Delete MISC box 18, if it exists in the setup file

AP_Vendor changes:
1. Change Vendor Default Form and Box if MISC Form, Box 7 will
change to NEC, Box1.
