I presume you are trying to attach to a memo?

Do you have this problem with all workstations? Just one workstation? Local workstation vs remote desktop?

Third-party solution Instadocs exists which handles this a little better.

Hello first thanks for the response... Yes attaching into MEMO .. it is sporadic both remote and local and multiple workstation . 

Do I necessarily have to go to DSD or is this issue fixed in another version or update in Sage at some point.. 

Is the memo saved (with blank attachment link field value) or is the memo itself not being saved?

The memo is saved but attachment is not.. its missing.. even before you save the attachment, we go to network drive grab the file and it doesn't add to attachment field or you can add attachment but after memo is saved its no longer there..

Are you running Standard or Advanced?

Are you browsing to the file through a mapped drive or UNC path?

Have you ruled out NTFS permissions being the issue if running Advanced?

Are your filenames / paths really long?  Could it be simply that the value chosen is more than the Sage field can store (128 characters)?

Before saving the Memo entry, try to copy / paste the Attachment value into the memo text field.

If that works, but the Attachment value still disappears, count the number of characters...

Thanks.. I thought it was 256 but if you say 128 it could be.  I will try your suggestion of copy and paste also see how many characters there are. 

Something else is weird too in our Sales Order module .. in certain SO's the 3 LINES tab total amount show correct total however the 4 TOTALS tab all amount fields show zeros dollars.. wondering if there is something corrupt??
