When attempting to print the AP check and electronic payment register I receive the following error message we get the following:
Don't keep us in suspense, what did the error log say.
oh sorry ... Effective date is required
Or
I just had a client run into this and it was the second issue above. Hm....

I just had this problem for a client last week also.
So I wanted to add something to this... we r still having issues. When attempting to print checks during the payment register job we need to select both electronic and check option on job so the "effective date is required" error message goes away also during job when electronic register displays there is nothing in register but we still need to select to get check register job to complete successfully. Now, when just running a electronic register job we only need to select electronic and job funs fine..
