have old user gets error 47 ARWJBA Line 1630 when trying to update cash receipts journal

9 times out of 10 this is a rebuild key files on receivables followed by a rebuild sort files. Try it on a backup company first however.

An error 47 in line 1630 of program ARWJBA would point to a problem in the detail file. Run Analyze and Relink Line Files, select Application=Accounts Receivable, Company Code=<company code error occurs in>, Choose to Relink file ARA the A/R Cash Receipts Data Entry Line File. As Thomas suggested previously, try this on a backup company.

I rebuilt ALL ar files - relinked AR c/r file - resorted A/R.. and still same error.
It only shows up on particular batch. other batches are fine.
This leads me to beleive that some data bt in some file is off... but???
Does anyone out there have the code that can tell me what line 1630 in program ARWJBA refers to?

As I mentioned, that line of code is referencing ARA the Cash Receipts Detail File.

If you have done all that, sounds like it is time to reinitialize the a/r cash receipt data entry files.

Post all other batches. Make note of what is left so it can be re-entered and reinitialize the cash receipt data entry files.

Any invoices in that were left when you re-initialized will have to have the payments today field reset with DFDM.

If you don't understand what I just told you, I recommend talking with your Sage Partner as you can do some serious damage with any of the utilities mentioned above if you do not know what you are doing. I'm intentionally being vague for that reason.
