Track Deleted Journals - Paperless Office Journal not updated

I have track deleted journals turned on.  I entered a JE, printed to Paperless Office and realized it is incorrect.  I delete the journal then try to print it and nothing prints, it just asks to update.  If I preview the journal it shows "deleted", but I can't update from preview.  In Paperless Office it shows the original journal I entered as not updated.  Most users don't have rights to delete the non-updated/deleted journal from Paperless and there's no proof that the journal was deleted unless you look in Source Journal maintenance.  My suggestion to the client is to turn off track deleted journals, but they want to track them.  Any suggestions?
