Cycle Count Program

Hey Everyone,

I am just learning Sage 100 ERP system and I came across these forums for help.

Anyways, one of my first duties is to establish a routine daily/weekly cycle count (based off of classification) to ensure our inventory is staying accurate of course.. Now does the SAGE 100 program have this functionality? We just did year end inventory thru the program but I was not here at the time.

So if anyone has any insight on this, that would be great!

Thanks!

You could assign items a code, then use the Physical Count process... but you need to be sure you understand how it works first or you'll be posting bad adjustments.

Freeze takes a snapshot of the current inventory (at that point in time, inventory QoH).  You then enter counts, and any differences between what you counted and the "Freeze" counts are posted as a variance.  So, your Sage 100 transactions need to be entered and posted fully, with no inventory movement of what you're counting between the Freeze and when you count.  (Sage 100 activity is not locked... "Freeze" is a bad / misleading term).

If you use ScanForce I know they have an inventory count feature, which would be much better to use vs Physical Counts.

    Thanks Kevin!

I am currently looking into ScanForce that you suggested. It looks promising for what I am trying to achieve.

Thanks again. If I have any further questions.. Ill be sure to come back

ScanForce does much more than just counts, and we have multiple customers happily working with their scanners for day to day activities.

Earlier this year we had one customer with rather detailed requirement for counts (some high turnover bulk items being counted more frequently) and ScanForce made some custom programming to accommodate the customer requirements (to replace a custom report / manual process we built them years ago, before they implemented SF).
