I am sure this is an easy question but I couldn't find the answer: At what point is the Qty Available calculation made in Item Maintenance?
My company wants to to make a custom change to the calculation, so knowing when it recalculates would be helpful

I doubt if you can make the changes. What you see is based on sort files and the Qty Available is bases on settings in Setup Options. Changing the sort files might require a check with a lot of zeros.

Yes, Available is calculated on the fly, based on IM_ItemWarehouse values (and setup options for what fields to include in the calculation), whenever needed.
