Report Automation with Sage Alerts

Is it possible to set up a Sage Alert to run a system report on a schedule?  I want to get the Inventory report Multi-Bin QOH and Valuation Report to email on a schedule, but I can't get the report to generate values unless I run it through Sage.

I've tried modifying the report to remove the fields that are parameter driven, but because its built from a wrk table I don't think this is going to work.

Is it possible to rebuild the QOH report from other tables that carry the current inventory values?

Or is there something else that can be done to get it to work through Sage Alerts as is?

Thanks,

Ryan

you cannot run a report from the Report menu outside of Sage because it is built on "Crystal Works Tables" that do not exist until the printing program is run. The program generates and populates the table.  One work around I have used is to build an Access database and link in all the tables and then use a make table query to make a table that is similar to the Crystal works tables. Then make a copy of the report and change the data source to the Access database.

(Or if on Premium you can write a SQL View instead of using MS Access).

I often find redeveloping a report from raw data is easier than trying to convert it this way.

Before doing any of that, look at the Sage 100 Task Scheduler (in Library Master) to see if the report could be automated from there.

When using Paperless Office with Task Scheduler the report PDF can be setup to be emailed.
