Demand in IRP

Why doesn't the Demand in IRP Generation process take into consideration the units SOLD for items? It only accounts for the Projected demand - SO Quantity on open Sales Orders.

What are you using Projected Demand for, if not anticipated future sales (beyond open SO)?

We do use Projected Demand for future sales and Buy/Make accordingly but we also review IRP Inquiry daily and pull in/push out as needed from other warehouses. Without Qty sold removed, we are double dipping.
