Physical Count Worksheets with only Active items

I am trying to print Physical count sheets with only items that are listed as active.  I don't really want to go through and "discontinue" all these items as well.  Is there a way to change the option in the physical count to allow me to select only active part numbers?

Thanks.

By changing the Product Type as Tyler suggested, you will have more flexibility in Physical Count Worksheet, you have the option to select which Product Types to include. It looks like this:

This same functionality is available for other Inventory Management Reports.

Another way to shorten the length of your Physical Count Worksheet is to remove the zero quantity cost tiers (IM > Utilities > Remove Zero Quantity Cost TIers). By using this utility before freezing your inventory, you are not freezing zero tiers.

Shelley, thank you for the suggestion.,  The challenge that I am running into is that we have some things that are marked as discontinued while some are inactive.  Removing the discontinued works great, but the challenge is to remove the inactive items from the list.  I don't really want to change all my inactives to discontinued, as they are different and there are reasons we keep some things as inactive, while discontinued items are truly discontinued.  Any other suggestions.

I do like your suggestion of removing the zero quantity cost tiers.  Will this impact anything anywhere else?  What areas might be of concern? Is this something that can be undone?  Thanks.

You can also use Crystal to edit the Physical Count Sheet and exclude items that are marked as Inactive if you want.  Do you know how to use the Crystal Report Designer?

Tyler - I do have some handle on Crystal.  I will look at this option - as I may be able to make something work.  Otherwise I may have to get some help stepping through your first suggestion.  Thanks.

A UDF added to CI_Item should show up in the selection grid.  Then you can import values into that field for the ones you want to include in your count, and use that criteria when freezing your items.

Crystal edit may not be a good idea as the items will still be frozen.    When you do your data entry, the printed work sheet will not be in the same format (i.e. the data entry will have items not showing in the printed) which will likely cause confusion.

Sounds like a good suggestion for the ideas site to add a selection criteria for active/not active in a similar manner to discontinued.
