FRx is a completely different product than the F9 application.  F9 is a reporting software application that integrates the Sage 100 GL with Microsoft Excel.  Some find it was very similar to the way Sage Intelligence functions.  You will need to find out if they are trying to move away from F9 or from FRx; two different products. 

There is also the very dramatic architectural difference between SI and the 3rd party options.  With F9 you can be in a spreadsheet and refresh the data from there (pulling in new transactions), but in SI that is not possible (since the data is pushed using SI into temp tables that cannot be refreshed from within Excel).

If the extra functions of SI are not clearly needed, be sure to at least demo the way SI data is refreshed before redeveloping the F9 reports... to ensure the different report generation process is acceptable.
