Indeed, migrations from a Premium source system when changing networks are always a challenge.  About 2 years ago I sent Sage some thoughts on the subject (not SPC specific), and hopefully progress was made on making things easier.

I'm also generally curious about the Sage 100 SPC SQL specifics... I haven't seen any technical details so far.

Sounds like that is coming soon. I have a few clients that are on SQL and want to move to SPC.

Do your homework.  SPC is not a traditional hosting environment, and comes with some idiosyncrasies / limitations.

We're resellers for SPC, so I've definitely done my homework and then some. Our clients have been happy with it.

Same... and some of our clients are happy, and one is on the verge of moving off (to a more traditional hosted environment). 

(We aren't an MSP, so running SPC clients adds overhead we don't normally manage).

I agree, the more complex clients it's not flexible enough for. But for the majority of ours it's a good fit.
