If you use the Next operand for the Sales Order number it will assign a new sales order number when a header field changes.  Let's say you have a UDF called Amazon Order Number and it is a header field. When you import and if all the other fields stay the same a new sales order number will be assigned when the Amazon Order Number field changes.

Thanks for your answer! I am putting the Amazon Order Number into the comment field, and have the Sage Sales Order Number set to NEXT and pointing to that Col/Pos of the Amazon Order Number, but when I test the import, both orders have SalesOrderNo set to 0000000.

Any other ideas?

Test doesn't work with the Next function.  You have to actually run it to test.

What Kevin said.  We import orders from our website and it works but you do not see an order number during a Test.

Got it, so that does work, and I am using a test company.  But it starts the order number at some arbitrary number, I would like it to start at A000001 and increment from there. I was thinking to set temp to the NEXT operation and have SalesOrderNo = CALCULATED A + TEMP001 but a temp field cant use NEXT.

Sales order Setup \ Sales order Options Tab 2 Entry you can set the starting number to what you want.

Matter of fact I just changed mine, in a test company, to  A071273 and did a new order and it made that order number A071274.

Right, but that would apply for all sales orders then even when manually creating a new sales order, it would start at A000004, I would only like for this import job to use those sales order numbers with A000001

I  just thought it was interesting that even with the "A" on it that it incremented it so maybe you would be able to piece together an order number like you are wanting to with a leading "A" and get the rest of the SO number from Sage.
