Sage 100 ERP 2017 Advanced Business Intelligence Explorer

We are currently using Microsoft Access to collect AR Invoice History detail data.  We have data from 1999 & use Access to lookup prior invoice line information detail, which

displays service performed.  We search by a UDF_ServiceLocation field.  If possible we'd like to use Sage100 BI Explorer to view this information, the problem we found is

we have too much data & it takes hours to pull the AR Invoice History data so we can view it.  We can't even pull all the data or are maxing out the number of rows to include in the Explorer view.

Is there a faster way to filter the AR History data without archiving the AR Invoice History data?

it is possible to use Sage Intelligence to do something similar but it will likely have similar limitations.  Due to the size of your database it could take a while to pull the data but I suspect it may not be quite as bad.   You would have to experiment and see.  The maximum transactions would be dependent on your version of Excel.

An advantage would be that you can poll the database and save a copy of the excel spreadsheet for future reference.  Then you update it periodically.

BI explorer is a nice tool but it does bog down with large quantities of data.   I have found that if you set a narrow filter it can be faster as it seems that the time is spent loading the data into memory as opposed to filtering it.

In the long run, your Access approach may be best due to the large quantity of data.

In addition you can use Sage Intelligence to bring in data from your Access source and Sage 100 in one report.  You'll find a full complement of Sage Intelligence on Sage University
