Crystal is very easy to learn. My suggestion would to be search for Crystal training  in your city. It does not have to be from a Sage reseller, any course teaching the basics of Crystal will do. The concepts of grouping, formulas and the like are the same no matter what software you are using it with. I would also purchase a book for reference. Several excellent ones on the market.

Yes, starting with general Crystal training is best.

I've done custom reports in 10 minutes, and for more complex requirements I've poured dozens of hours into a single report design.  Knowing the Sage data structures (and how to build complex reports) comes with experience.

my needs for the reports are VERY basic.  just need additional information on a report that is not on the list of available fields.

Ask your reseller for a lesson on Form Codes / Report Settings (which is managing the files / settings within Sage), as well as an example of adding a UDF to a report's work table.  These are things you will not learn from generic Crystal Reports training.

With general training you'll be inclined to link in tables, but with work table reports that is not the best approach.
