That is the GL posting / transaction / accounting date, and Sage already has an option to restrict that (in Company Maintenance).

Thanks Kevin! If you are referring to the "Restrict accounting date to current and one future period" setting, this does not restrict users from setting this field to a date in the future, which is why we are implementing this script.

It restricts how far into the future the GL posting (accounting) date can be set, based on how current you are with closing periods.  It does NOT affect things like invoice date / order date...

I understand this is how the setting is supposed to work. However, even after restricting the date and using an account that does not have role settings to override, the most "restriction" we can get is a message that says the date is in the future. We can simply click ok through theses screens and continue posting. The only thing that the setting does for us is required users to enter a valid accounting date when prompted the first time entering a module.

The only time I have ever been restricted on that screen is if I am trying to post to a PRIOR period. Are you restricted on your system on the screen I posted? From what I have gathered, I have not been able to find another person/company who this works for.
