There isn't any way to modify the naming of the PDFs.  One workaround (I know isn't exactly what they are looking for) is to turn off "Keep Only Last Copy" in Form Maintenance.  That way the first printing of the S/O or P/O will have a sequence number of 000 appended to the PDF file name and when a revision is made and the document reprinted the PDFs will have an incremented sequence.  All of the PDFs would be available in the viewer for review.

Thanks Steve. That's what I thought, but I promised the client that I would check.

If you are emailing the files, I believe MBA has an enhancement to Paperless allowing UDF's to be used in the subject line / email body.  That would not change the file name, but might help them see a controlled version # another way.
