Sales Order Packing Slip Modification

We manuf door panels that are in our inventory module & priced by the inch. We would prefer that the packing slip the stores receive show a quantity  of 1 panel vs 159 inches. Keeping in mind the number of inches can change. We don't use BOM module. Does anyone have any ideas on how we might accomplish this task? My concern is customers receivers will look at the qty received and the packing slip qty and be totally confused. Open to some creative thoughts and ideas. We are using Sage 100 V2019.

Thank you,

Brenda

Add a line UDF for "quantity to print", and use that on a customized form.  Or if the quantity to print will always be one, perhaps a checkbox would work better.

Watch for issues with unit price on printed forms (if you change what prints for quantity).

The customer would provide length x width in inches and that would be the qty entered as the pricing is by the inch. I could try adding a UDF that they could type into the order entry screen the finished quantity. The extended price could still be based on the hidden quantity for the packing slip/receiver. The invoice could show both fields, as could the sales order confirmation. That all sounds great right ;) lol. Can you confirm that the table for sales order would be SO_SALESORDER.M4L?

    Thanks,
