Conversion of PM_TransactionHistory upgrade V2019 to V2023 taking 10 days to complete

We have 2 companies to convert to production management... V2019 to V2023.

I have been working with my sage partner with this test upgrade, however this is our 2nd test installation and the one company is still taking way to long to convert when it gets to the PM_transactionhistory conversion process.  It converts like the speed of a turtle.

The 1st time we did this test conversion going from V2019 to V2022 it took 10 days for company's B data to convert and 3 days for Company A.  We did not purge any WO history during this conversion.

The 2nd time we did the test conversion going from V2019 to V2023 (recommendation per Sage tech) regarding issues with V2022 that needed to be fixed for our open work orders.

After purging work order history we had

Company A with 1220 work orders, originally there were 2765 work orders

Company B, with 715 work orders, originally there were 3445 work orders

Company A converted, but took 7-1/2 hrs.  Note this time is very similar to the amount of time taken to convert a test version to V2022 about 2 months ago

Company B is still trying to convert, it is currently at 49%  (8/28/23@1028am)... screen shows Company Data Conversion to Version 07.10  Converting PM_TransactionHistory.

At this rate it will take 10 days, same amount as our last test version to V2022.   This amount of time will never work in our live company.

Note:  Background of our work orders in V2019.... we do not open and close work orders based on the demand in the MRP.  Instead we release orders 1 x and keep posting transactions to them until we need to make a change to the BOM affecting the work order.

Work orders may have as much as 5 to 8 years of transactions entered onto the work order.

My question is whether these open work orders, which have all this data entered onto them would we be better of to close the open work order.   I'm thinking by closing those open work orders, Sage does not have to convert all that open data.  Instead it would be in the closed status, which seems like it is more like a screen shot vs all the open data.

Company A has more work orders, but have less transactions on their work orders over the years.

Company B has less work orders, but has so many more transactions on each work order over the years of the work order being open.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?   If so, what was your solution?   I'm thinking about closing ALL of our open work orders, then converting the data and then re-issuing them.   Thoughts?

    Greetings,

Closing the Open Work Orders may help but there may be other data issues.

Is this Sage 100 Standard, Advanced or Premium?  If Advanced or Premium, are there other processes running on the servers that are impacting performance?

For the data set that converted in 7 1/2 hours, are there any errors in the conversion log?

I would suggest opening a support case with Sage 100 Customer Support and if the customer is willing, provide us with the data set that is being converted so that we can do some test conversions using that data.

    Thank you,

    Kent

    Sage 100 Advanced

Nothing else is running on the PC.

No errors in the activity log.

I do have a case open with Sage... just thought I would throw it out there and see if anyone else experience this issue.
