64-bit Excel and BIE

We have a Sage 100 ERP 2014 on Terminal Server with 64-Bit Excel. Everything seems to work EXCEPT the Business Insights Explorer.

Is BIE really incompatible with v2014, or am I missing something?

    Hi,

"You cannot install the 32-bit version of MS Acces db engine 2010 because you currently have 64-bit Office products installed...."

What this means is you have installed the x64 Microsoft Access Database Engine Drivers.  Uninstall them using Control Panel | Programs and Features.  Reinstall the x86 (32bit) bit version of the Microsoft Access Database Engine Drivers.   I have verified they do install if you don't already have the x64 drivers installed.  Sorry for the confusion.

    Thanks

    Thanks, John,

The underlying problem is that the menu choice to export any BIE query to Excel has been dsiabled (grayed out).  This happened when the IT people upgraded the terminal server version of Office to 2013 64 bit  They have since rolled it back to 2010 but left it at 64 bit.

The file version of Exapp.exe is 5.0.0.2266.

    Hi,

Do you have an open case with support that I can tag to have them provide the current Exapp.exe?

    Thanks John Nichols

    Current Version is 5.0.0.2284

No, we did not. We figured that we were either looking at a fundamental, known incompatibility around 64-bit Terminal Services, or some detail that we missed.

It turns out that it is an UNknown incompatibility. We gave up and simply installed the 32-bit version. The trial and error was too much for our customer and its IT vendor to put up with. If you have special instructions, they should be placed in the upgrade document, not scattered across quasi-correct Sage KB articles.
