2017 New enhanced auto-complete functionality overload - suggestion - please go vote for it in the ideas site

SUGGESTED

The new enhanced auto complete in 2017 that searches names, addresses, comment fields, etc. is fantastic!

However there is a slight problem in that it can have too many hits (and then not be able to display them all).

For example:
I am based in Spokane, Washington. Many business in Spokane have Spokane in their name. Spokane Chiefs, Spokane Library District, Spokane Fencing, etc. so it would be common to start searching by typing in Spokane.

However, since the enhanced lookup is also searching the address fields, you will get hits for everything with a city of Spokane (which is easily hundreds of hits) and since the enhanced lookup appears to be limited in the number of hits it will display, often you will not get what you are looking for.

Adding a feature to be able to restrict which fields are indexed would be helpful.

We use the look up wizard to check multiple fields because some of our vendors have changed their name and the current auto-complete (v.2016) often misses them. In days gone by, duplicate vendors were set up because the first vendor record wasn't immediately found. Wondering why we can't add another word to search like "Spokane+Fencing"? An alert that tells me there are too many to display would also be helpful. Restricting the number, without a plan B, might prove to be counter productive. Thanks for all you do!
