100c Configutation

I am upgrading from Sage 100 2016 to Sage 100c.  I don't see much documentation concerning this.   I am interested in the access anywhere feature.  Is there a document I can read up on so I can be prepared with all of the ports and router info I need to confirgure?

100 to 100c is actually a different licensing arrangement, rather than an upgrade. In fact, your 100 installation already reached out to Sage entitlement servers and got your 100c license if the paperwork is all completed. There is no anywhere access that I'm aware of, but you can get Sage 100/100c hosted by a third party or on your own cloud server. I'd ask your Sage 100 partner about the different ways you can access Sage through the cloud. But it's not a cloud solution.

"Anywhere" is on the product roadmap for future release with v2018 (which can change... and I have no details on the feature).

That's what I am talking about we are going to host it. Is there documentation on how to get this setup? I believe our consultant needs to contact someone at sage. I am just doing it ahead of time as I will be the one turning it on.

If you're hosting it yourself, your Sage partner will install 2017 on your cloud server just like it was on prem. Then he/she will migrate data from the live install. If you do it yourself, same deal. but test like crazy because there's a reason your partner has about a thousand step checklist to avoid any issues after go live. :-D Your license number is visible on the customer portal. but your 2016 version probably already picked up the new one.

Yes my Sage Partner is doing the install and data move over. I guess I am more concerned about connecting from outside my organization. Like from home. Which is one of the reasons I am moving to 100c. I was told that I can access 100c from my ipad and different browsers. Was I told wrong?

You can use products like PCAnywhere, Teamviewer, GotoAssist (or any other similar software) to basically remote to and control a computer in your office or and RDS server. You are not truly running Sage 100 or 100c directly on the Ipad, but remoting to another computer that is running it. 100 vs 100C AT THIS TIME really makes no difference.

As Kevin M indicated there is something coming called "Anywhere" that is in the future, but I haven't heard any details yet either. We might learn more at Sage Summit in May.
