What's the latest build of SQL Server that you're safely using with Sage 100 Premium?

Hi all!

Just curious what your experiences are because Sage doesn't officially validate individual SQL Server builds with Sage 100 Premium.

If you can supply the version of Sage 100 Premium (e.g., 2017) and the SQL Server build # (e.g., 12.00.5546 aka "SQL Server 2014 SP2 + CU5") that you're using, and if you've had any issues with that combo, it may benefit other Sage 100 Premium admins.

Btw, here is a good resource for SQL Server build numbers.

Best,

Roberto

  • Please see the Sage 100 Supported Platform Matrix for the version of Sage 100 Premium that you are using.  The SPM does list the supported versions of MS SQL Server.  The SPM can be found in the Sage 100 Knowledgebase.

    Thank you,

Kent, thank you for replying, but what you posited doesn't address what I had asked.  If you carefully re-read my original post, you will know what I mean. Slight smile

With regard to SQL Server, I'm referring to it not just by major version, like 2014 or 2016, or whether it's Standard or Enterprise, but by build # (or its equivalent SP #, if relevant, and CU #)... because that information is meaningful for many DBAs and system/Sage admins.

For instance, for Sage 100 Premium 2017, the Sage SPM only shows the following in the "Sage 100 and Sage CRM Supported MS SQL Servers" section:

    • Microsoft SQL Server 2016
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2014 (32 and 64-bit) Standard and Enterprise
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2012 SP2 (32 and 64-bit) Standard and Enterprise

In the above info, you will notice that there is no mention of Service Packs (other than for SQL Server 2012), or Cumulative Updates.

So if anyone wants to contribute to this discussion, please mention both the version of Sage 100 Premium and the SQL Server build # that you're using, and whether you've had any issues with that combination.  (For a link to a trusted resource on SQL Server build #s, please refer to my original post.)

    Kind regards,

    Roberto
