Is SData a technology we can expect to be improved and developed in Sage 100 Standard?

SOLVED

We've built a connector between WooCommerce and Sage 100 Standard using SData and have found that SData has some quirks that have proven to be a real pain to work around. It's also not very well documented (at least the version of SData used in Sage 100 Standard). We've had at least one person suggest that we should be looking at using BOI instead of SData, and that makes me wonder if we're investing in a technology that's not going to be supported or improved. From what I can tell, if we were to use BOI instead of SData we'd have to create the API ourselves that bridges between REST and BOI...no small feat. Can anyone from Sage give a word on the state of SData (specifically in Sage 100 Standard if possible) and whether it is something we should keep investing in?

Wayne, thank you for responding. We are not looking to develop anything commercially. We need this for a particular product/implementation. A 3rd party connector might be viable if it is reasonably priced. Our store is not much of a moneymaker and is not core to our business, so it’s hard to justify a steep long-term cost.
